A very popular and Star wildlife destination is Brazil’s wilderness. Although this is the land of extreme wet and dry seasons, the country probably has the highest number of surviving species.
Brazil has the World’s largest Wetland called the Pantanal which has a very high abundance of wildlife. Capybara, Caiman, Piranhas and the Jaguar are some of the largest populations and are easy to spot here.
The Amazon of course is quite famed for its dense rainforest (covers 60% of Brazil) and rare and endemic animal, bird and reptile species. This huge rainforest that covers half of land mass of South America also has the second longest river, the Amazon River. The Amazon is still undiscovered, with new species being found till date. There are also some native tribes here that probably are unaware of any other human existence.
Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world. The official language is Portugese and its capital is Brasilia. Brazilian people are as vibrant and diverse as the forest and its inhabitants and have descended from different parts of the world. They are extremely cosmopolitan and are known to be great hosts.
There are several International flights going to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro from India, which are the main starting points of all trips. Sao Paulo flights however seem to be more economical and better connected at the moment. Depending on which program you choose domestic flights can be taken accordingly to the program.
