Tadoba National Park

Tadoba National Park is one of 47 Tiger reserves in India, and the oldest and largest in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra. The total area of the tiger reserve is 1,727 Sq.km, which includes the Tadoba National Park, created in the year 1955. The word 'Tadoba' is named after God "Tadoba" or "Taru," revered by local tribal people of this region. It is a tropical dry deciduous forest with teak as the prominent tree species. Park is rich in water resources due to some lakes. It is known for sightings of tigers, sloth bears and wild dogs. One can also find here some of the best native woodland bird species of Central India.
