Biwindi Impenetrable: Home of the mountain Gorillas. Half of the endangered population of Mountain Gorillas resides in this UNESCO protected world heritage site. To track them is still not easy as the forests are extremely dense and it can take up to 10 hrs to trace your first group of gleeful gorillas. With the very sight of this king of Biwindi would drift away all the tiredness. Nature Walks (only option), trekking with keen eyes and strong foot would make it a unique adventure in rugged forest. There are 300+ other species of colorful birds habituated in Biwindi impenetrable forest.
Pygmy (Batwa) Clan: Batwa pygmy was displaced from Biwindi Impenetrable Forests and now reside just outside Biwindi. Batwa has kept its heritage preserved and takes pride in passing it through the generation thread. Their unique ways to bring up the young ones and their incredible skill of interpreting the slightest of forest movements will surely leave you amazed. Spending a day with Batwa – “keepers of the forest” is like going back to the age when culture was the only religion and nature was the only God. Sharing traditional food, enjoying nature walks with elder Batwa people, listening to their folklores and sharing festivities has been consistent on an explorer’s checklist for Uganda!
