Western Wonderland –Uganda Primate & Wildlife - 7 Nights / 8 Days

This is 8 days and 7 night explorations to Uganda. You would spend one day at Uganda’s best __ 4 experiential parks. The exploration would be completely wildlife centric with a little exposure to the cultural highlights of the place also incorporated in itineraries. You would be visiting Kibale Forests (chimpanzee tracking), Queen Elizabeth, Biwindi impenetrable (gorilla tracking) and Lake Mburo National Park (in that order). Best of all the wildlife in Uganda with a special focus to track primates and gorillas is the trips high point. Spend your day in Safaris, horseback Safari, Night Safari guided nature walks, boating, gorilla tracking and traditional flavors of Uganda!

Kibale National Park: Kibale is Uganda’s unique park that contains lowland and montane forests. With an area spanning over 750kms that has extreme environmental attributes in north and south. Northern region is the wettest area and southern Kibala opens up in the vast grasslands of Queen Elizabeth Park. 13 species of Primates and chimpanzees are found in abundance with best of flaura and fauna. Guided nature walks to get introduced to the leaf eating Primates, Colubus Monkeys and 325 prolific bird species are the specialities of Kibala.

Queen Elizabeth National Park: (QENP spreads over 1978sq.kms) is the most visited park of Uganda and big gaming destination. The savannas, lakes and grasslands reside 600 recorder species of birds and 95 mammals. The Ishasha region in the heart of the park has tree climbing lions and highest concentration of Hippos in the world. Park has its own tracks to trace the big four in their natural habitat along with monkeys and baboons. Take a boat trip in Kazinga channel and picture hippos from close distance.

Biwindi Impenetrable: Home of the mountain Gorillas. Half of the endangered population of Mountain Gorillas resides in this UNESCO protected world heritage site. To track them is still not easy as the forests are extremely dense and it can take up to 10 hrs to trace your first group of gleeful gorillas. With the very sight of this king of Biwindi would drift away all the tiredness. Nature Walks (only option), trekking with keen eyes and strong foot would make it a unique adventure in rugged forest. There are 300+ other species of colorful birds habituated in Biwindi impenetrable forest.

Lake Mburo: Lake Mburo is Uganda’s smallest Savannah Park located in western part of the country. The park has 5 lakes and 68 species of mammals (including indigenous Impalas, Bruchell’s Zebra, Leopards and Hippos in high numbers. 350 recorded species of birds and upto 300 hippos can be found. This 350sq.meter Park can be covered in a day through activities like nature walks, Game viewing and Birding.

Day 1:- Entebbe – Kibale Forest National Park (5 hrs)
Our team would be at your service as you arrive at the Airport. We start off our journey. Drive through ubiquitous tea plantations and greens of Kibale Forest. Reach Fort-portal in time for lunch. Continue driving towards lodge. Dinner and unwind at lodge after a long journey. Exploration at Uganda begins early morning tomorrow.

Day 2:- Chimpanzee Tracking - Kibale Forest (Tracking takes about 3 to 4 hrs)
Breakfast, and transfer to Kanyanchu Park Headquarters in time for a briefing before basking in the forests. Start an impeccable primate and chimpanzee tracking journey in the morning. Guided nature walks and introducing yourself to the rich flora and fauna of the place would make it an informative and adventurous outing. Expect enough of birds and primates in close quarters while on trail. Arrive in time of Lunch.
Lunch, and stroll towards Bigodi swamp walk. Lush green surroundings of vast floral and faunal attributes of Bigodi will leave you delighted! Enjoy your evenings at the lodge, great hospitality would beautify the day to perfection!

Day 3:- Kibale - Queen Elizabeth National Park. (3 hrs)
Breakfast and start off for the next destination. Mystical Rwenzori Mountains follow us on our journey towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. Splendid hiking in the Katwe crater area in the QENP area and we proceed to lodge in time for lunch.
Lunch, and leave for first game drive experience at QENP - sight Leopards and Hyenas, Buffaloes and Antelopes species in the park. Sundowner in the Kibale Savanna for leisure. An option to opt for a night game drive or simply unwind at the lodge after dinner!

Day 4:- Game Viewing & Boat ride.
Early morning and treat yourself with your favorite beverage at the lodge. Head out for a morning game drive along Kasenyi track and look out for a Lion or leopards on a morning move! Plethora of wildlife including Elephants, Cape Buffalo, Warthogs and Uganda Kob are early morning rewards of QENP. Lunch, and gear up for a boat cruise in Lake Edward along the Kazinga Channel. Yes! keep your cameras ready for best close shots of distinct birds and animals including lazy Hippos bathing in the Sun. Return to lodge for leisure, dinner and unwind like a Wildlifer!.

Day 5:- Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. (4 hrs)
Breakfast, and start an eventful journey for Biwindi. See Uganda’s unique and famous tree climbing Lions in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth. Arrive at our lodge in Biwindi in time for lunch. Lunch and choose to relax or scamper off the streets of Buhoma area, get acquainted to the traditions and appreciable craftsmen. A traditional performance by the orphan group would be energizing and leave you in awe! Unwind at the lodge to start the big day at Biwindi ahead!

Day 6:- Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Tracking takes 3 to 10 hrs)
Knock at the gorilla sanctuary of Bwindi early morning and get closer to the gorilla habitat like never before. Tracking a gorilla in the impenetrable Biwindi following walking trails is an unparallel forest adventure. These creatures of stunning amusement would keep you spell bound with their acts in the rainforests of Biwindi. Follow them, capture them and try to decode their actions and movements. Time would fly and you would be taken by surprise by the lovable and peaceful Gorillas! Return in time for Lunch and ease out at the lodge after trekking the dense Biwindi! Dinner and unwind at the lodge after an eventful day!

Day 7:- Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - Lake Mburo National Park (6hrs)
Breakfast, and steer to Lake Mburo National Park, stopover at various tourist spots on the way. Arrive at Mburo in time for lunch. Lunch, and engage yourself in the variety of activities this park has to offer. Opt for a nature walk, Horseback Safari or simply adore the serenity of Mburo until time for a Night Safari. View unique Cape Eland specie of Antelopes and other herbivores. You may expect a Big game on the game trails across Lakeshore track. Seize the beauty of the park and unwind at the lodge post dinner

Day 8:- Lake Mburo – Kampala/Entebbe(6 Hrs)
Early morning game drive and direct towards Kampla, we would stop over at other destinations for short time like- the Equator and Mpigi. Mpigi is a hub of traditional Drum makers, who have been crafting ceremonial Drums since generations! Proceed towards Kampla to catch the return flight to India after eleven days of absolute thrill in the wilderness of Uganda!
