Northern Pantanal is probably the best place for wildlife viewing in South America. In this itinerary our focus will be on the Jaguars and River Otters, beside viewing other fantastic Game on the way. We will be staying at the famed Jaguar camp and Safari on a boat on the Cuiba river and later to the Três Irmãos River which has the highest density of Jaguars in the world.
Our focus later shifts to the Nocturnal animals and birds of Northern Panatanal and stay will be at the famed Rio Clara Lodge from where we will go for our night drives.
This program also offers Kayaking and /or walking safaris, to get up close and personal with Pantanal’s wildlife.

Day 1: CUIABA / JAGUAR CAMP (Transfer + Photo Safari + Boating)
Pick up at hotel in Cuiabá at 6:30 a.m. then, transfer to the Pantanal. During the trip, a photographic safari on Transpantaneira Road observing all the regional nature and passing through the city of Poconé. This will also provide an excellent opportunity for wildlife photography. After lunch and check-in at the Jaguar Camp, a trip on our jaguar searching boat with our expert boatman and guide searching for all kinds of wildlife, but with the main focus on jaguars and river otters. Dinner and overnight at the Jaguar Camp (L/D).

Day 2: JAGUAR CAMP (All day dedicated to Jaguar Searching)
Early morning breakfast is followed by a boat ride in the State Park ‘Meeting of the Waters’ looking for signs of recent jaguar activity on the river banks. After lunch, return to the boat looking for the mighty big cat and other interesting wildlife such as Capybaras, Black Howler Monkeys, Iguanas, Caimans and several types of different bird species. Return to accommodations after sunset. The Pantanal is famed for its dramatic sunsets – a photographer’s delight! Dinner and overnight at the Jaguar Camp (B/L/D).

Day 3: JAGUAR CAMP (All day dedicated to Jaguar Searching)
Once again an early breakfast (around 6:30 a.m.) will be followed by a boat ride, traveling further up the Cuiabá River. Most of the day will be spent in exploring this remote region which is This itinerary is based as a guide for group tours and may vary from day to day depending on river conditions, weather, group decisions & desires, and circumstances beyond our control After lunch, return to the boat looking for the mighty big cat and other interesting wildlife until sunset. Dinner and overnight at the Jaguar Camp (B/L/D).

Day 4: JAGUAR CAMP / RIO CLARO LODGE (Transfer + Walking + Night Safari)
An early breakfast is followed by a transfer to Rio Claro Lodge. This is yet another fantastic area for observing wildlife. After check-in and lunch, a short rest, then a walking trip until sundown. This environmentally diverse area is a collection of gallery forests (deciduous and non-deciduous) in addition to savannah and shallow pools which support an astonishing variety of wildlife. Dinner is followed by a night safari by car, using a spotlight to try and detect animals such as crab-eating foxes, tapirs, caiman and nocturnal birds. Stops will also be made in order to experience the magical sounds of the Pantanal at night. You might typically hear the haunting calls of nightjars and potoos as well as the general hubbub of bullfrogs. Overnight at Rio Claro Lodge (B/L/D).

Day 5: JAGUAR CAMP (Kayaking + Walking + Boating + Night Safari)
Sunrise kayaking trip at around 5:30 a.m. then, return to the lodge for breakfast. Afterwards, enjoy a wildlife walk in the grounds of the farm looking for more animals. After lunch it’s siesta time. In the afternoon we will take a motorized boat looking for giant river otters, tapirs, capybaras, caymans, howler monkeys, storks, herons, and more. After dinner, a night drive with the aid of a spotlight looking for more animals and nocturnal birds. Overnight at Rio Claro Lodge (B/L/D).

Day 6: JAGUAR CAMP / CUIABA (Walking + Transfer)
An early morning start at around 5 a.m. in time to watch the sunrise. There will be the opportunity to observe both nocturnal and diurnal animals. Breakfast is followed by a walking trip. After lunch, transfer to Cuiabá. Drop off at the airport or city hotel depending on client’s preference at around 6 p.m. (B/L). End of our services.
